Dates:

Riders should plan to  arrive on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, and depart on the 8th. Riding days are  between March 2-7 which gives six full days of riding  (with an optional rest day mid camp on day 4).

Rides leave daily from North Coast Village, located in Oceanside at 999 N. Pacific Street, Oceanside, CA 92054. The condo complex is oceanfront and close to many restaurants and amenities.

Accommodation:

Riders are responsible for their own accommodation. We recommend staying at one of the North Coast Village condo units. Many of these are available on AirBnb and VRBO.

Transportation:

The nearest airports are San Diego International Airport (SAN) and John-Wayne/Orange County (SNA), both approximately 45 minutes from Oceanside.

On-site transportation for dinners and to popular grocery stores will be offered, for those who are not renting a vehicle.

Riders may choose to rent a car share a vehicle, or use shared transportation (UBER or Lyft) to North Coast Village to and from the airport.

FAQ Is this for me? What is the level of the participants?

The level of participants is A/B, which is on a Vancouver Club level, the equivalent of 25-28km/h

on a flat ride and 20-22km on a hilly ride over 3h+.

For more specific power metrics, please email us: joanie.caron@altiusvelo.com

Are bike rentals available?

Rentals are available in the North County but have limited availability. See the Trek Encinitas website for availability (Note: Altius Velo can facilitate pick-up and drop-off but assumes no responsibility for the equipment). For that reason, we recommend that you bring your bike. If you need help with packing or need to rent a bike bag please contact Sean Tan at Bike Tech (sean@biketech.ca)

What is the volume/elevation?

Days are 3-5h of riding time, between 80-130km daily with a typical elevation between 850-1600m. There is an optional rest or active recovery mid-camp (Day 4) for those who wish to.

What is a typical day in camp?

8:45 Pre-ride meeting 9 am Ride starts 2 pm ETA return 2-5h30pm Rest/personal activities 5 pm Groceries (if necessary) 6h30 Dinner and/or social activities

I don’t know anyone, can I share accommodation?

We can try to match you with another rider, and wait until accommodation is secured before taking payment. However, it is easier to bring a friend or a riding partner as you are in familiar ground. Spouses are welcome and the area is close to the beach strip, shops, golf/tennis clubs, etc. If you need help finding accommodation, please contact Tara at: tara.rosenberg67@gmail.com
